Clamping Rings
Clamping Rings
Laminated, high-density pressboard rings designed to distribute axial clamping forces uniformly across structures.
Priced per requirement — tell us grade, width, thickness and quantity and we quote against it.
Technical specifications
| Composition | Moulded, drawn or pressed from transformerboard; aramid where the class demands it |
|---|---|
| Standard | Made to customer drawing; base material to IEC 60641 |
| Thermal class | As the base board: Class A in oil, aramid grades to 220 °C |
| Manufacture | Machine-moulded, hand-moulded, drawn or pressed depending on geometry |
| Tolerances | To drawing; agreed before first article |
| Form | Finished components, supplied dried and packed for winding |
| Compliance | RoHS, REACH; mill test certificate with every consignment |
Typical values for this material class, given as a guide. The datasheet carries the property table, test methods and tolerances for the grade and is the governing document.
Overview
Laminated, high-density pressboard rings designed to distribute axial clamping forces uniformly across structures.
Sizes, packing and supply
Supplied to your specification — grade, thickness, width and quantity, cut and slit to your dimensions rather than sold from fixed stock sizes. Mill test certificate and certificate of conformity accompany every shipment.
Standards and compliance
- Manufactured to IEC 60641 / IEC 60554 where the grade is covered
- Mill test certificate and certificate of conformity with every consignment
- RoHS and REACH declarations on request
Third-party testing can be arranged where a specification demands independent verification.
Applications
End insulation
Angle rings, caps and end rings shaping the field at the ends of the winding.
Winding support
Cylinders, spacers and clamping rings holding the coil in position under short-circuit force.
Lead management
Snouts, tubes and lead exit systems taking connections out through the barrier system.
Assembly
Washers, fixation elements and edge protection used through the build.
Quality and inspection
Every consignment is inspected before shipment and supplied with its mill certificate. For repeat programmes we hold the approved specification on file, so a reorder repeats a known outcome rather than reopening the conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Do you make parts to our drawing?
Yes — that is most of what this range is. Send the drawing or a sample and we will quote tooling and parts separately so you can see what each costs.
Machine-moulded or hand-moulded?
Machine-moulded suits standard geometry in repeat quantities. Hand-moulded is for shapes and sizes outside the tooling, usually on larger units or one-offs. We will tell you which your part falls into.
What tolerances can you hold?
To the drawing, agreed before the first article. Where a tolerance is tighter than the process holds, we say so at quotation rather than at delivery.
Are aramid versions available?
Yes, for Class F and Class H systems. The same components are made in aramid where the temperature demands it.
Datasheet
Full property tables, test methods and tolerances for Clamping Rings are on the datasheet. Request it and we will send the current revision.
Next step
Tell us the size and quantity
Send the thickness, slit width and annual volume for https://transformerinsulation.com/wp-content/themes/transformerinsulation and we come back with a costed offer, a firm lead time and the mill certificate you will receive with it.
